Hillenbrand is committed to being a steward of the environment. In 2019, we signed onto the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), which is considered the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. Through this initiative, we will support and embrace the United Nation’s sustainability goals while adhering to all environmental regulations. To minimize our impact on the environment, we recycle, manage operational material efficiency, and reduce and reuse waste.
Every year, our businesses come together as one team to serve the communities in which we live and operate. Our One Campaign focuses on tackling global problems with local solutions. Through this campaign, we encourage employees to participate in one day of service and one week of volunteering. Some of our community efforts included participating in the Indiana Sustainability Development Program, taking part in Manufacturing Camp(a program for adolescents)and co-hosting a free outdoor concert for the public.
We are committed to good corporate governance. The Nominating/Corporate Governance Committee of our Board of Directors oversees our company’s corporate responsibilities policies and efforts. All of our employees and companies within our supply chain are expected to meet our high standards, including following a detailed human rights policy that we adopted in July 2020.
Diversity and inclusion are a part of our Core Beliefs. We require that our board members are diverse in regard to gender, race and ethnicity. Diversity is included throughout our employment practices: our recruiters are certified by AIRS® for Diversity & Inclusion and recruit a diverse pool of candidates for each job opening. Additionally, we offer employees inclusion-focused training.
Hillenbrand employees receive regular feedback throughout the year and have performance reviews. We identify high-potential employees during the review process and encourage that they participate in our leadership development programs.
