BATESVILLE, Ind., August 10, 2007 – (PR Newswire-First Call) – Hill-Rom, the health care unit of Hillenbrand Industries, Inc., (NYSE:HB), announced that Sheri Edison has been appointed to serve as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for Hill-Rom, effective October 1. Edison had been serving as Vice President and General Counsel for Hill-Rom and has been with Hillenbrand Industries for five years. The CAO role is newly created and expands Edison's areas of responsibility. In her new role, Edison will continue to be responsible for legal operations, government affairs, regulatory affairs and quality assurance, and will now add responsibility for information technology and for enterprise transportation and guest visitation services.

While at Hillenbrand Industries, Edison initially served as Vice President and was the first General Counsel of Batesville Casket Company before assuming duties with Hill-Rom. Before joining Hillenbrand Industries, Edison was Assistant General Counsel at LTV Steel and spent several years in private practice at the Cleveland offices of Jones Day as a mergers and acquisitions attorney. In addition to her legal career, Edison owned and operated a retail business for eight years and has been a guest lecturer and member of the Business Advisory Board at the Boler School of Business at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Edison earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California and her law degree from Northwestern University School of Law. She resides in Columbus, Ind.
